Pack Family Tradition

One of my most favorite " Pack Family " traditions is making gingerbread houses at Christmas time.
I remember as a little girl, every Christmas Season, Grandpa and Grandma Pack would teach us how to make houses to decorate with homemade icing and candy! I am not sure if Grandpa Pack is so good at this because he knows how to build a real house from ground to roof in it's entirety, but he is even the gingerbread house making expert too!

As we became older, even teenagers, we still had our house decorating at Christmas time, only it became a little bit competitive. The good thing is that what one person was going for is not usually what the other was going for? Mommy,  or I, usually went for pretty, while Aunt Amy went for architecturally impressive, and Grandma Pack.....well, she likes candy a lot, so she normally loads her houses with colorful candy.

I am glad that we can still do this family tradition each year as we live by Grandma and Grandpa Pack.

This year Brooke made a village, Will a train, and Mommy and Grandma made the Nativity that Will originally chose out until he saw the train that Grandma had at her house.

Normally we build our own houses from scratch, but with all of us going out of town, we just went the easy route this year. ;)
